Among a slew of other things that I do, I've been totally ENJOYING working as an assistant girls' dean. There is so much that comes along with that privilege. It's one that must take much thought and prayer. I'm glad that God didn't give it to me until this term since the language barrier was stronger during the first term and the break.
Being a dean also helps me to be
much more in-touch with the girls' health. Malaria and other bugs have been busy "bugging" our students.
Every night, I give and
receive lots of hugs, “good-night's”, “sleep well's,” “see you
tomorrow's.” I love each one very much
and desire that they not only are comfortable and love it here, but
also that they will always see what Jesus is like through me. I am greatly
blessed by their friendship. Most don't profess to be Christians, but
that's okay. I love them all the same and am earnestly praying and working for
each girl's, as well as each boy's, salvation.
I love this job very much.
Please, join me in praying for the Lord's guidance for me, Tharamoo
Wah Nay Paw, and Thara Dah Boo (boys' dean).
Hannah and I have been sitting in 7th grade (actually 7th standard) for the first class period since our Thai teacher left during the break. (Please, pray for a Thai teacher for grades 1-8.) As usual, I have a great time with that energetic, enthusiastic bunch. They study for
their other classes—Burmese, English, Math, and Bible. I have fun
helping them with their English and math. (Sometimes, helping with math ends up being nothing more than a good attempt.)
Last term, I was as
assistant teacher in Mom's Medical Missionary Part 1 Vocational
Class, but this term, I'm a student in MM Pt. 2 which is being taught by
some Karen medics. Thara Eh Keh Nyaw translates from Karen to
English.
So, that's a little of what my school days are like.
