"And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men." ~Mark 1:17~
We are now doing classes twice on Friday nights as well as twice on most Sabbaths, whereas, last term it was only on Sabbath afternoons that we didn't have another activity, such as branch Sabbath School (no branch Sabbath School this term).
Prayer Requests
I could just ask you to pray for our students as a whole, but I would also like to share about two of our students--Saw Htoo Moo and Thet Zaw Oo.
At the beginning of this term, fourteen year old Saw Htoo Moo (one of our day students in 2nd grade) told Dad and Thara Eh Guh Nyaw that he wanted to be baptized. Sadly, Saw Htoo Moo only came for the first two classes. I don't know, yet, why he stopped. I ask that you will intercede for him. Perhaps family or other things are making it very difficult for him.
Thet Zaw Oo, a 15 year old, heathen jungle boy from Burma, began attending our school as a boarding student at the beginning of last term.
I remember his first Sabbath. I had just taken a seat in Thara Eh Guh Nyaw's Sabbath School class when he (Thara Eh Guh Nyaw) said, "This boy is a new student. He does not have a Bible. Do we have one that we can give to him?" Thet Zaw Oo came to our mission school knowing little, if anything, about the Bible and God.
I quickly became friends with him. He was put in seventh grade and joined Mom's Medical Missionary Training, Part 1 Vocational Class during the first term. From the very beginning of his time here, I knew that God has a special plan for him and has called him out of pure heathenism to follow Him and become a fisher of men.
He has been a blessing to me and others from the very start. For example, he has such a big, deep smile, that no matter how you feel, you can't help but return a big smile. He would often smile at me even when he was in misery from shingles. That touched my heart.
I have watched him as the months have gone by. And, as with all of the other students, I seek to constantly reflect the pure, loving character of God in my life and to draw him always to his Creator. I want Him to see and experience in his own life what God is like. It's been exciting to see him transforming into a child of God.
From a heathen boy to a young man who is becoming a disciple of Christ--that's the incredible power of the Gospel through the working of the Holy Spirit. He has been coming to some of the baptismal classes. I don't know if he is one of the boys that requested baptism, but I'm very happy--and I know there's rejoicing in heaven--that he has an interest in digging into the Bible more.

There is no mistake why Saw Htoo Moo, Thet Zaw Oo, and our other students are here. God has brought them to this mission school because He has chosen them. Please join me and the other staff in Interceding for their salvation. It's thrilling to see prayers for the students being answered! And I hope that you will experience that JOY, too.
NOTE: After morning worship, I added an update in a comment.
Update:
ReplyDeleteSince evening worship yesterday (Friday), Dad has been leading us in a study of the beast and the little horn power of Revelation and Daniel. Near the end of worship, we read Rev. 18:4. He made an appeal to us to stand if we choose to worship God even when the world is not. It was so exciting to see...Thet Zaw Oo was one of the first to stand up.
