"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed,
shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." ~ Psalm 126:5-6

~Nico Leh: A Sabbath's Blessing~

Nico Leh is one of our many Karen boys that come, here, for school. He is one of the few students who not only seems to know English fairly well, but also likes to practice speaking English to us and learning more from us.

Often, one or more of our students will come to our home and pull out the Uncle Arthur blue and little multi-colored Bed Time Story Books off of a book case that faces the front doors of our home. They love them.

Today, Nico Leh and another boy came. I was beginning to relax in our hammock when He came over with one of Uncle Arthur's blue story books. He had me tell Him the story of baby Moses. We continued to look at more pictures when I was done. He was most of the time telling me who different people were, what the story was about, and even telling me parts of stories. Of course, I couldn't help but smile big in my heart at this special moment.

Later all of us, except for Dad, were out on the porch. Hannah set her MP3 player and our little speaker on the floor. She played Young Disciple Ministries' scripture song CD, "His Song in My Heart." Nico Leh laid his head right in front of it, enjoying the music. After a while, he fell asleep.

I don't know how much of the words and messages of the scripture songs he could understand, but it was neat to share this blessing with him.

The thought comes into my mind, so often we from the "American world" and perhaps other modern surroundings, take it for granted that we have such a huge wealth of good music right at hand. And it often has instruments and people sing harmony. There isn't much of that, here, and they love it when they hear it.
