"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed,
shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." ~ Psalm 126:5-6

"Copy, Teacher?"

Grade 3 (more like standard 5)! :)
"Copy, teacher?"--that's what I hear every day throughout four class periods (standards 1-4) from around 50 precious students. As I write this, I can hear individual voices from both boys and girls asking that question. (They are asking me if I want them to copy what I wrote on the chalkboard.) Most of the time I say, "Yes, copy." with a few exceptions of "Don't copy."

You likely might be wondering, "Why are you writing about this?" Yes, I know it's a simple everyday-classroom experience that doesn't seem to be of that great importance to write about--or is it? There's a deep, serious object lesson that God brought to my mind-- that is my example. I can audibly hear my students asking me those questions, but what about my example? Is it one that I would be ashamed for them to copy or is it one of a life that is hid in Christ that I would be unashamed of? Is my example one that would lead them to change into the pure image of Christ or is it one that would lead them to turn their backs on their Redeemer? "Teacher, copy?" is no longer just a question....It's a constant object lesson that I must take heed to every moment....It could very well mean eternal life or death to one of them. I want them to have LIFE in Christ--a connection with the vine that cannot be severed under any circumstance!
