"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed,
shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." ~ Psalm 126:5-6

~GO! [command]~

Again you read it,

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." ~Matthew 28:18-20
It's like a well memorized script that you just read without even thinking about it. Maybe you do think about it. But do you do it to the extent of seeing if you really understand it or not?

I know I don't fully understand it myself, but I want to understand it so well that it becomes as much a part of me as my breath. One can only understand its beauty and the great joy that it gives if this commission is ingrained in their hearts.

I would like you to stop whatever you're thinking about and the needless distractions and ask yourself two life and death questions:

1. Am I living as though this commission was just a it-would-be-nice-if-you-would "go"...?
2. Or am I living as though this commission is a command addressed to me personally from the nail scared (sin crushed) Redeemer?

You see God told us to GO. That command is for you and for me to obey--NOW, at this very moment.

To disobey God's command, is to reject it.

To reject God's command = the eternal loss of not just one, but perhaps thousands of blood-bought, precious souls because of you--because of me. You see, it's the ripple effect. Only one person may be lost from a direct result of my disobedience, but than other people will be lost because of that one person that I didn't truly care about. I could, in the end than, be held accountable for the eternal death of likely hundreds or thousands of people. Strong language, but reality--truth.

And, as a final result, we may ourselves lose the gift of eternal life.

So put every cell (and thought) into committed, whole-hearted service-at this very moment. There are people waiting for you to rescue.

"In the field of Jesus
There is work for you;
Such as even angels
Might rejoice to do;
 Why stand idly sighing
For some lifework grand,
While the field of Jesus
Seeks your reaping hand?"

Will you go? now?

  1. Resonate with every word of this.
    Choosing to go was easily the most rewarding decision I ever made in my life. My only regret is that I waited so long. Nothing compares to the richness of the life of service. In fact sometimes I try to think of what life was like before I started canvassing (since "go" for me was and is unmistakably to the needy rich and poor of Anerica) and it seems so empty that I can't imagine ever going back.
    Thanks for sharing... This passion will become more and more consuming the closer we draw to Jesus. It is clear you have been with Him.
