I sat there in the pew, staring at the pictures one by one that dad was showing to the audience. Tears of joy swelled up in my soul. All of a sudden this overwhelming wave of excitement rolled over me. I squeezed Hannah's shoulders. We quietly talked about this student and that student...and oh, the joy of soon, VERY SOON, being with them again.
I scooted right next to her and laid my head on her shoulder and she laid her head on my head.
Those black hair, brown eyed girls and boys....big smiles, faces that call you "na na" (big sister).... broken hearts, rejected or abandoned by those who should love them most. The ones that soak up most of my minds attention and the activities, big and small, of every day of every week.

The one-on-one talks with some of our girls about spiritual and other life decisions. The times we laugh, learn, sing, and pray together. The moments in the garden, whether in sunshine or rain, dirt or mud. Hauling bamboo together from the jungle behind our school. Singing in the choir with a dozen+ voices.
Bandaging their wounds. Being by their side as they lay on their mat on the bamboo floor.
Practicing Karen and English together. Laughing when we make mistakes and encouraging each other in our progress.

Watching them transform from a child of darkness into a beautiful child of light....
I continued to gaze at the pictures in front of me. Big smiles light up my face as I whispered one name after another as the picture changed to another.
Soon, very soon, I will be with them again! These last few days are going to go by all to slow. I wish I could be there now in an instant.
Aw, my beloved girls and boys, see you very soon!!!
And, I cannot wait to be working with my fellow teachers again for our kids' salvation and for their temporal education!

I am _so_ ready to go again. . .
