"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed,
shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." ~ Psalm 126:5-6

Pilgrims & God's Kingdom

What does Heb. 11:1-16 reveal about the Holy City and those who will be there?

The Holy City:

~It has foundations (vs.10).

~God is its Builder and Maker (vs.10).

Those who will be there:

~Able (vs.4), Enoch (vs.5), those who believe that God exists and that He rewards those that diligently seek Him (vs.6), Noah (vs.7), Abraham (vss.8-10; PP, pg.170.1), Sara (vss.11-12), Isaac (vs.20), Jacob (vs.21), Joseph (vs.22), Moses (vss.23-28), Rahab (vs.31).

~Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthae, David, Samuel, and the prophets.

In verses 14 and 16 it says that these people sought for a better country. Adventist Home, pg. 542 says
“In the Bible the inheritance of the saved is called a country.” As we know, some of these people are already in heaven. It sounds like everyone ells mentioned here will be there too. Maybe, some of them rose from their graves when Jesus rose from the dead (Matthew 27:52-53).

How can we be sure to be part of this glorious Kingdom? By believing that there is a God and by diligently seeking him with our hearts and lives.
