One of my favorite studies is my study on "Trust." It is a great blessing to me every time I study about it. I thought I'd share it with you.
The verse that I chose to be the theme verse is probably one that you all are familiar with, Proverbs 3:5,6. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Some of the definitions for “trust” in Noah Webster's 1828 dictionary are: “To place confidence in...To believe...To commit to the care of, in confidence”
We have all dealt with the “problem” at times concerning: What do I do now? Should I or should I not do this or that? What's God's plan for me (or sometimes, for me and my family)? And there are other questions that we may have.
There are many times we are struggling with something and we begin to worry about it and get all stressed about it. It could be financial problems, having to make a decision that will affect the rest of our lives, etc. We come to God and ask Him to give us an answer and we want it now. Sometimes He doesn't answer us when we want Him too. How should I really respond when God doesn't answer when I wanted Him too? I need to surrender myself to Him and trust Him.
God wants our hearts, our will. We must give it to Him with a willing heart. In order for us to be able to trust God, we need to first be surrendered our desires to Him. We can't have confidence in Him if we have a barrier between us. We must also trust Him that He knows when we need an answer.
Trust is something I'm having to learn over and over again, but the Lord is helping me. When I put my trust in Him, I find such a wonderful peace!
